Ronald Reagan, a man I greatly admire and our 40th President, would have been 100 years old today. He suffered from a cruel disease, Alzheimer's.
If you are familiar with my blog, you know that one of my favorite books is a collection of his letters to Nancy Reagan,
I love you, Ronnie...The letters of Ronald Reagan to Nancy Reagan.
As much as I love how romantic and touching his letters to his wife were, I also love how much he shared his belief in God and the Bible. He believed as our founding fathers believed, he too acknowledged God, our Creator, in founding the United States. Below are some of his famous quotes:
“Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.”
“If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
"I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the US Congress."
"Within the covers of the Bible are all the answers for all the problems men face."
"I believe with all my heart that standing up for America means standing up for the God who has so blessed our land. We need God's help to guide our nation through stormy seas. But we can't expect
Him to protect America in a crisis if we just leave Him over on the shelf in our day-to-day living."
"We are never defeated unless we give up on God."
We miss him too and our prayers are with you, Mrs. Reagan.
