All my beautiful granddaughters together...............

Amanda was my first "grandchild". Although we do not share the same bloodline, we share something deeper, something stronger.............love, unconditional love. It isn't blood that makes you part of a family, it is love and understanding. It isn't what flows in your veins, but what fills your heart. No one can say she isn't mine, because she is!!!!!!
It makes me smile when I see what a beautiful young woman she has become, on the inside and out.
Seeing Amanda with Aubrey and Lainey makes me realize just how fast their childhood is flying by us. It seems like only yesterday that she was their age! All of them are growing up too fast!

Celebrating Dan's birthday over the weekend

Riding the Choo-Choo train in the mall. We had planned to have pictures made with the Easter bunny, THEN ride the train.............but, the girls said NO to the picture. So, on to the train we went!!!
They would talk to the Easter Bunny, wave to the Easter Bunny, but would NOT sit in his lap for a picture.

We went to eat at the birthday boy's place of choice, Mugshots. They have great food and the atmosphere is loud and busy, just what two little girls enjoy!!!

Afterwards we came back to the house for cake and ice cream!!!

Krisha had an Auburn cake made for Dan, now that is REAL LOVE!!!!

Dan and all of his  beautiful girls!!!!

and of course, with his favorite FIL and MIL!!!!!

We love ya SIL!!!!

Happy Birthday to Dan....................

Being punished for other people's misbehavior...........

Last year Jim purchased a golf cart for us to use taking the girls to the pool and playground in our subdivision. It was so easy for us to load up our coolers, floats, and sunscreen onto the golf cart and ride to the pool on those hot summer days.
Eli is also spoiled to taking rides around the neighorhood on the golf cart. Even my mother has been known to occasionally hop on for a ride with the girls and Jim.
There are several golf carts in our subdivision. We even met some of our neighbors one day when their golf cart stopped running in front of our house and Jim knew how to fix it for them. During the holiday seasons some have decorated their golf carts for Halloween and strung lights on for Christmas! It has been a way of life in our subdivision..........................until,
a few people started bringing in their 2 and 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, go carts, etc. and trying to make the neighborhood a dirt bike course for them to use and abuse. So,
the HOA (Homeowner's Association) has now BANNED all the above being driven in the subdivision, INCLUDING golf carts!!!!! So,
to those of you that have caused this (and you know who you are!) I just want to say how much you have hurt two little angels and one precious dog at our house!!!!
When the girls come over, the first thing they do is jump onto the golf cart wanting to go for a ride (even Eli does this too!). How do you explain to them that we can no longer go on rides???? Do you think they understand that because others were careless that they are being punished now too?

I told Jim that the golf cart HAS TO GO, it can not stay in the garage any longer. I can not bear to see our angels begging to do something that I can't let them do! I can not bear to see their little faces full of tears when we have to pry them off of the golf cart to come inside now.

Below is how they enjoy the golf cart now:

"Sit down Sissy, it is time to go." said Lainey.
"Ok, hit it Lainey!" said Aubrey.
"Wait, Eli wants to go too", said Aubrey.
"Start backing up, Lainey. Eli and I will help watch for you." said Aubrey.

Dan is going to haul the golf cart to Bankston. Hopefully the girls will be able to enjoy it there. Maybe I can take Eli up there to ride with them occasionally.

And, as a side note:
I am totally for a Homeowners Association. I would not want to live in a subdivision without one. And, because of our HOA, we live in a beautiful, clean and safe community. It is just upsetting that a few people can cause so many others to be punished.
