Pool Time

Today was Dan's birthday. Krisha and the girls came to Northport to eat lunch with Dan at work, then we continued celebrating with dinner (per Dan's request, I made Chicken Spaghetti and Apple Dumplings w/Blue Bell ice cream). However, during the time between lunch with Dan and dinner.....we went to the pool in our subdivision. Aubrey and Lainey LOVED it. Krisha and I were not dressed for the activity (because we really didn't think the girls would like it) but, they loved the pool so much, that we continued the fun in Eli's old pool in the backyard!

Lainey getting adjusted to the water
Aubrey may be our water baby!
Eli can't figure out why Aubrey and Lainey are in HIS pool!?!?!

Aubrey seems to like this as much as the kiddie pool
Lainey just relaxing

Fun Day with Eli

Dan and Krisha have been doing a little painting in their kitchen and dining room. So, last Monday night Eli and I kept the girls........all alone! It was a fun time, but a busy time too! I could not have handled them alone without Eli's help.

"Ok, Eli this is going to be a big job for you! You have to keep Aubrey and Lainey out of danger and out of trouble!"

"OK girls, Mom says that I am in charge!"

"Hey, don't crawl away during my meeting!"

At least one of them listens to me.

"You better get down from there before Moma D comes back, and I don't think she will care that Popa Jim said you could do whatever you wanted to do!"
Looks as if one of them is trying to check out another room...

"Girls, there is nothing behind that door, now get down from there before we all get in trouble!"
"I promise, there is nothing behind this door that you need! Now, don't make me have to sit you down again!"

"Lainey, please get down from there!"

"One down, one to go."

"Finally, both are down for a nap!"
"Ok, both are napping. Hey Mom, can I have my bone now?"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY ARE STAYING ALL NIGHT AND TOMORROW TOO?"

("I don't think Mom has that many bones in the pantry. I need to call Krisha!")

Aubrey and Lainey's thoughts on Easter

The Easter Bunny brought us Corky flip flops just like Moma D's!
We can use these sunglasses when we go to the kiddie pool at Popa Jim and Moma D's!
This pretty hat will be useful when we are at the pool too!

I really like our Easter dresses!
Daddy and Mommy look good too!

Making Easter Memories.....

We hope everyone has enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday and holiday weekend. Jim came home late Thursday night to begin our weekend together.
On Friday we spent time working in the yard....mowing, weed eating, trimming, planting dogwood trees (seemed like the perfect day, on Good Friday!) and figuring out our sprinkler system for the yard.
Of course, we did have to take a break from all this work to go see Aubrey and Lainey! We put them in their swings for a while, then I hid Easter eggs while Krisha and Jim helped the girls find them.
We came home and Jim grilled some GREAT steaks! His best yet.

On Saturday morning we had planned for Dan, Krisha, and the girls to come for brunch, then we would go to the church Easter Egg Hunt. However, because of the rain, we decided to skip the egg hunt. So, after we ate brunch, we let Aubrey and Lainey open their Easter Baskets from Popa Jim and I. (Eli had opened his before the girls arrived, we didn't want him to get over excited, but he did anyway! As you can see below, he wanted to help them with their baskets too.)Also, Popa Jim painted the baskets for the girls!

So, Popa Jim decided to wear one too!

After the girls played with their baskets, Krisha and I took advantage of having Popa Jim and Dan to stay with the girls and we set out for some Mother/Daughter time together....doing what we do best......SHOPPING!

Krisha and I enjoyed our time out alone, but both of us remarked that it just wasn't the same anymore without Aubrey and Lainey with us! We were only gone for about three hours, but we missed our girls!!!

After returning home, we all ate again, then took the girls in the stroller to the park and enjoyed our time together. As always, it was difficult for Jim when it was time for them to leave. He hates saying goodbye to them. He adores those little girls!!!

This morning, our Sunday School class enjoyed a delicious breakfast together. We had a wonderful praise/worship service and a great message from Bro. Dan, as always. Danyell joined us for worship service.

After church, Jim and I went to Wayne and Anita's for Easter lunch with them and William's family. WONDERFUL FOOD! (My sister got all the great cooking abilities! She had a huge meal prepared).

Sad to say, after lunch Jim had to hit the road again back to Texas. Eli and I started missing him before he got out of the driveway. But, we are already looking forward to him returning in a couple of weeks.
