Preparing Christmas Shoe boxes

We have participated in the Samaritan's Purse, "Operation Christmas Child" for the last couple of years. We have always prepared special shoe boxes in honor of Aubrey and Lainey to be given to  little girls their own age.
However, this year, Krisha and I decided that the girls were old enough to prepare the boxes themselves. To help them understand what they would be doing , "You will be giving these presents to other little girls, you will not be keeping these presents", we let them watch a video of the African Children's Choir (click to watch video) on a Gaither's Christmas Video that also showed children in Africa being given shoe boxes by Bill and Gloria Gaither, with Franklin Graham.
Aubrey and Lainey still do not fully gasp the significance of what sending these gifts mean, but they did enjoy packing them and knowing that somewhere in the world, four little girls would be getting gifts from them that otherwise might not get a gift for Christmas.
When they were watching the videos, they even went to the TV screen and pointed to some of the little girls and said, "I want her to get my box".
We found out last week that the boxes went to Madagascar. There are four precious little girls around the world from us that have letters and handprints from two very, very special little girls here!
