Getting ready for the big day (Yes, it's early, but we're packing our gear!)

Popa Jim, Eli and I will be headed for 'Bama Country this weekend. Unfortunately, Popa Jim will only be there for one night. However, Eli and I will be setting up house once again in "Eli's Cabin" for a while.

Since football season starts on September 05, Eli and I had to make sure that we had all of our team clothing ready and packed for the trip. Eli wanted to model some of the shirts that he will be wearing that day:

Eli says, "ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!

Eli says, "GO Louisiana Tech!!! That is where my Daddy graduated! Go Dawgs, beat AUBURN!"

Sunshine on a rainy day!

Rainy day in Texas, but these smiles bring out the sunshine for me!

(Both girls have expressions that remind me so much of Krisha! I can't wait to get back to 'Bama and see them....soon.)

It just doesn't get any better.............

Nothing can compare to how our hearts burst when we get pictures that are as precious as these! There just isn't anything to compare the feeling to. I have stated so many times that MY greatest accomplishment in life is Krisha, and she has added so much more pride to that statement by giving us these precious babies!
(A big thanks to Dan too!)

Their beautiful outfits were gifts from Jennifer Clark, the creator of Livistitches, http://www.livistitches.etsy.com/ She makes adorable children's outfits.

Also wanted to add a picture of Chloe with the girls. Chloe is still our little girl too, but we refer to her now as our "Big Girl". She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! (Must be that red hair!)

These are not bows, they are weapons!

Jim and Dan HATE the large hair bows that Aubrey and Lainey wear......HATE them. Jim has commented that if his precious girls have to wear them, so should Krisha and I. Danyell has been known to insist that the girls wear them too.
After seeing the video clip below, Jim has stated that there are now 101 reasons why Aubrey and Lainey should not be allowed to wear the large hair bows......they can be weapons. Weapons to jerk some one's head off!

FYI: The "clucking" noise that Krisha is trying to get Lainey to make is something that Lainey and I started doing at the Fair. Lainey would watch my tongue and try so hard to make her tongue do something too. (They aren't just cute....they are smart too!)

Our precious girls at 2 months old!

A Fair to Remember............

It is impossible to explain what attending the Neshoba County Fair is like, you just have to be there. Below are some pictures of our week.

Chasten's Wedding.........

Jim and I traveled to Arcadia, LA on July 18th for the wedding of our niece, Chasten. It was a beautiful ceremony at the First Baptist Church, with the reception following at the new home of her mother and step-father. The tables were set up around the beautiful pool area. It was a clear-sky night with a light breeze blowing, which was perfect for the fantastic fireworks display down by the lake, presented by Chasten's dad, Ben.
The wedding was a perfect opportunity for all of Jim's family to get together to visit with each other and to discuss plans for the upcoming Neshoba County Fair.

On Sunday, Jim traveled back to Lumberton, Texas, while Eli and I traveled to Bankston, Alabama to be with Krisha and the girls for a week before heading to the Fair.
It was a great week! With the help of Mother, we were able to put up 18 jars of strawberry-fig preserves one day. We also carried the girls to Winfield for lunch and a little shopping with some of Krisha's friends from work.

On Friday it was off to the Fair...........Eli and I left early, followed by Krisha and the girls after they picked up Dan from work.

More on the Fair in my next post!
